Who's On Your Team?

From Payroll Services to Credit Card Processing Services, a business should have a roster of experts ready at text message or phone call speed to advise on sensitive matters that are presented. Given that your hard earned revenue will be dedicated to their businesses and the businesses they represent, you will want to use some best practices in determining how you build your team.
Here are some of the key questions that should guide you when deciding on who will advise certain aspects of your business:
How long have they practiced in this particular industry?
How much access to their time and expertise will you have?
Do they come highly recommended from trustworthy sources?
Are they willing to refer your services to their clientele?
There are certainly more traits that you should want to look for when building your team strategically. In my top 4, cost is not addressed. Cost should be a factor, however, not a leading factor. If you have crafted your start-up and/or annual operating plan strategically, cost should not be a factor.
The misconception that only large corporations find resources to build an adequate team, has led to the downfall of many small businesses. You truly cannot "go it alone".
